New Subsidies for Vojvodina Farmers - Province Allocates RSD 200 Million for Development of Primary Crop and Livestock Production

Young farmers in Vojvodina have received new subsidies to improve crop or livestock production on their farms.

At the Provincial Government, 115 contracts with a total value of 200 million dinars were awarded to young farmers, with the support intended to increase production and ensure more secure livelihoods.

Ivana Pejovic Sevrt, Undersecretary of the relevant secretariat, said that the importance of providing support during the initial stages of agricultural production development had been recognized.

- Our goal is not only to support individual investments, but also to create conditions for young people to remain in rural areas, develop their farms and build a secure future - Pejovic Sevrt said.

According to a statement from the Government of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, the funds were awarded under the Call for Support to Young Farmers in Rural Areas, which, according to Pejovic Sevrt, has attracted considerable interest.

- This obliges us to continue implementing programs in the coming period that will contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of our farms and improving the quality of life in rural areas - she said, adding that hundreds of young farmers have been supported through this program since 2017.

At the contract award ceremony, it was stated that the Provincial Secretariat would continue to implement measures contributing to the modernization of agricultural production, greater competitiveness of farms and the sustainable development of rural areas.
