IMI builds its second 8,800 m2 facility in Nis and creates 350 jobs

IMI is in the second phase of construction of a new production facility in Nis, which will cover around 8,800 m2 and enable the creation of 350 new jobs, City Councillor for Economy and Information Technology Ivan Blagojevic said.

The investment is particularly significant because as much as 4,600 m2 of the new facility will be dedicated to a so-called clean room, where the most sensitive electronic components will be manufactured.

According to Blagojevic, the factory expansion will create opportunities not only for workers with secondary education, but also for highly educated professionals in electronics, information technology and related fields.

- IMI is in the second phase of construction of its production facility, which will be expanded to around 8,800 m2. Of this, 4,600 m2 will be dedicated to a clean room, where the most sensitive electronic components will be produced - Blagojevic said.

He assessed that the creation of 350 new jobs is highly significant for the economy of Nis, as well as for further positioning the city as a center of advanced technologies and the electronics industry.

As he stated, eight companies from Nis are among the companies that have a significant impact on Serbia's gross domestic product, which, according to him, demonstrates the city's economic potential.
