According to the company’s official statement, the ore processing plant at the Ada Tepe site will end its operations on July 15, 2026, after the last blasting was carried out in mid-April. Following the closure of this mine, the company is starting the process of dismantling and overhauling specific parts of the processing facilities in order to adequately prepare them for installation at the Coka Rakita project in Serbia.
The company’s management confirms that the construction of the Coka Rakita mine is expected to begin in early 2027. The use of existing infrastructure and proven technological equipment from the Ada Tepe site aims to optimize costs and reduce operational risks during the upcoming development of the project in Serbia.
At the same time, the company emphasizes its commitment to responsible reclamation and closure of the Bulgarian mine in accordance with European environmental standards, where it plans to return 95% of the land to the Natura 2000 nature protection network after restoration.
In the same business report for the second quarter of 2026, DPM Metals records stable financial results at the global level, driven by increased gold equivalent production at the active Chelopech mines in Bulgaria and Vares in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Financial stability and the ongoing share buyback program, worth over USD 49 million during the past quarter, provide a solid foundation for further capital investments and development projects in the Balkan Peninsula, the company said in a statement.
The company’s official, complete operating and financial results for the second quarter will be formally presented to the public after the stock exchange closes on July 30, 2026.
