Petrohemija Pancevo examining terrain for construction of new production complex

HIP Petrohemija has announced a tender for the selection of a contractor that will conduct soil quality testing, preliminary categorization of construction waste and preparation of accompanying reports for the project to build new production capacities for propylene purification and polypropylene production in Pancevo.

This is a service that is part of the preparatory activities for the implementation of the investment, and includes soil testing at the location of the future plant and preparation of documentation necessary for the continuation of the project.

As stated in the invitation to submit bids, the subject of the procurement is the performance of works on soil quality testing, preliminary categorization of land representing construction waste, as well as preparation of accompanying reports for the project “Construction of new production capacities for propylene purification and polypropylene production”.

Let us remind that, two years ago, the General Director of Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS), Kirill Tyurdenev, stated that NIS would invest more than EUR 150 million in the construction of a new petrochemical plant.

– We plan to invest over EUR 150 million in the construction of a new petrochemical plant, a polypropylene production facility at Petrohemija Pancevo – Tyurdenev said at the time, speaking about the company’s plans.

In May 2024, HIP-Petrohemija a.d. Pancevo announced a tender for the preparation of technical documentation, obtaining conditions, approvals, permits and performing other services, culminating in a final construction permit, decisions on approval for the execution of works and a water permit, necessary for the implementation of the project “Construction of new production capacities for propylene purification and polypropylene production”.
