The opening of the CCPIT office in Belgrade should accelerate the placement of Serbian products on the Chinese market and increase investment projects.
CCPIT brings together more than 300,000 member companies and will cover the entire region with its activities, it was confirmed at today’s meeting of Marko Cadez, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS) and Jagoda Lazarevic, Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade, with Ren Hongbin, Chairman of CCPIT, in Beijing.
At the meeting, it was also agreed to form a joint working group that would work on organizing a European “spin-off” edition of the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), i.e. a fair aimed at connecting suppliers from Europe and China, the holding of which in Belgrade could start in 2028.
Cadez and Lazarevic are in Beijing to attend the Serbian economy’s participation in the Fourth China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), which is being held from June 22 to 26, where Serbia is represented this year at the national pavilion within the AI zone, with 11 companies and institutions and a total of 23 representatives.
– The meeting confirmed the opening of the CCPIT office, practically the national Chinese Chamber of Commerce, in Belgrade, which will cover the entire region. This is very important news and it was confirmed to us today. The good news is that we have formed a joint working group to organize a fair that would be similar to this one, but focused on connecting suppliers between Europe and China, and that will be in Belgrade from 2028. We have started working on this together and that is a really big deal for Serbia – Cadez emphasized.
Jagoda Lazarevic, Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade, emphasized the importance of the continuity of institutional and economic cooperation between Serbia and China.
– We are in Beijing for the third time in the last two months, this time on the occasion of the most prestigious world fair dedicated to supply chains, which is attended by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Serbian companies that are presenting themselves for the second time. The focus is on areas of cooperation that are important and key to us, namely advanced manufacturing, robotics and the application of artificial intelligence – Lazarevic emphasized.
The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) is the largest Chinese institution for supporting international trade and investment, with a limited number of representative offices abroad, which are opened exclusively in strategically important markets.
The decision to open a representative office in Belgrade confirms the growing importance of Serbia in economic cooperation between China and Europe.
