Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minic said that he had received assurances that the Foca-Sarajevo road would be fully operational again within 30 days, while the contractor was asked to begin the reconstruction of the Foca-Tjentiste road by the end of the month at the latest.
When it comes to the Foca-Sarajevo road, Minic pointed out the problems caused by landslides and damage to the road surface at the Bistrica site.
According to him, they did not wait for the determination of responsibility, but immediately began the rehabilitation, installation of piles and a bridge structure, as well as additional geological surveys.
Minic stated that the initial information indicated that even geological surveys could not fully predict the problems that had arisen in that area.
– We opened one lane. I am aware that it does not look good at the moment, but I have been assured that the road will be fully operational again within 30 days – said Minic, adding that an alternative route via Rogatica for freight traffic would also be arranged.
Minic said that he also expected an international public procurement announcement for the construction of the Foca-Scepan Polje road to be announced not long after, for which all procedures had been completed in Republika Srpska and at the level of joint institutions.
– We have submitted an agreed proposal for the publication of a public call. I expect confirmation and the announcement of an international public procurement that will last 45 days – said Minic.
This is, he says, a project that is being implemented with World Bank funds.
When it comes to connecting Banja Luka and Belgrade, Minic says that the deadline for the construction of the Brcko-Bijeljina section is 1,000 days, and that according to the information he has received, the contractor assures that the project could be completed even before that deadline.
Speaking about the Raca-Bijeljina section, he reminded that there were problems related to the relocation of power lines and resolving property-legal relations, but that they were expected to be resolved in the coming months.
Minic stated that work was also underway on the Vukosavlje-Brcko route, and that the route of the highway through that local community had been agreed with the authorities of the Brcko District.
– This is not just the Banja Luka-Belgrade road. This is a historical road. We used it when it was most difficult for us, when we were saving lives – Minic told ATV.
Speaking about the work of the Government, Minic said that he was satisfied and that he wanted it to be people-oriented and that the focus of its work was on the people.
– I try to go to local communities where other political options are in power. I want to hear from them and from citizens. Simply put, the Government is a service to all citizens of Republika Srpska. There are no political colors here – said Minic.
When it comes to public companies, Minic praised Poste Srpske, Vode Srpske and Putevi Republike Srpske, led by Radovan Viskovic.
When it comes to the company Sume Srpske, Minic believes that they are at a satisfactory level of “coming out of the abyss.”
