Continuation of implementation of investment worth EUR 35.1 million – Green light for Kapino Polje B1 solar power plant

The Environmental Protection Agency has issued a decision to the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG), granting approval for the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the project to build the Kapino Polje B1 solar power plant, with a capacity of 11.43 MWp.

The construction of the Kapino Polje B1 solar power plant is planned on plots in the cadastral municipalities of Stedim, Strasevina and Niksic.

– The conducted environmental impact assessment procedure determined that the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the project to build a facility for the production of electricity from renewable energy sources, the Kapino Polje B1 solar power plant, with a capacity of 11.43 MWp, was prepared in accordance with the Law on Environmental Impact Assessment and that it contains defined measures for the prevention, reduction or elimination of harmful impacts on the environment – the decision of the Environmental Protection Agency states.

As a reminder, the Kapino Polje B1 solar power plant is one of four planned in the same location in Niksic.

This can be seen from the documentation that EPCG submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency, in order to give approval to the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the aforementioned project. In June, the Agency decided that a Study must be prepared for the Kapino Polje B1 solar power plant.

For the project in question, the Government of Montenegro issued in March the urban planning and technical requirements for the preparation of technical documentation for the construction of a facility for the production of electricity from renewable resources - the Kapino Polje B1 solar power plant.

The expected annual production in the first year of exploitation is approximately 15.79 GWh.

The Kapino Polje B1 solar power plant will be spread over plots with a total area of 160,122 m2. The power plant in question will consist of 19,704 photovoltaic modules.

Let us remind that EPCG plans to build a total of four power plants of this type in Kapino polje, namely “B1”, “B2”, “L1” and “L2”, and the total value of the complex will be around EUR 35.1 million.

The solar power plant Kapino Polje B1 will have a power of 11.43 MWp, while the value will be EUR 6.6 million.
