The Novi Pazar Assembly adopted a Declaration on a Ban on Geological Exploration, Excavation and Mining in Sanitary Protection Zones of Water Supply Sources and Protected Areas on the city’s territory.

At the proposal of the Justice and Reconciliation Party (SPP) councilor group, and with several amendments from the Sandzak Democratic Action Party (SDA) and the Sandzak Democratic Party (SDP), the decision was adopted unanimously.

The councilors also adopted the Air Quality Plan for the next five-year period, and this document defines measures for reducing air pollution, improving monitoring, energy rehabilitation of individual furnaces, developing the heating network and increasing green areas.

At the session, which had a total of 46 items on its agenda, a decision on the second amendment to the General Urban Plan of Novi Pazar was also adopted.

The changes, among other things, relate to the redefinition of the route of the northwestern bypass and the creation of planning conditions for the establishment of a rail connection between Novi Pazar and Raska.
