Wizz Air strongly rejects untrue allegations that have appeared in certain media outlets, according to which the airline allegedly does not operate in accordance with local regulations or does not have approved aircraft maintenance services, Wizz Air announced.

– Safety remains Wizz Air’s absolute priority and is never a subject of compromise. Its safety standards are internationally recognized through IOSA certification, a 7-star safety rating awarded by AirlineRatings, as well as a position among the 10 safest low-cost airlines in the world. The airline operates in full compliance with all applicable aviation safety requirements and regulatory obligations. Each aircraft in the Wizz Air fleet is maintained in accordance with the highest international aviation standards, with the implementation of approved maintenance procedures and the engagement of certified personnel – the company says.

They add that, following the sudden changes to local regulatory requirements introduced by the Civil Aviation Directorate, Wizz Air has taken proactive measures to ensure continued regulatory compliance and operational safety, by employing its own highly qualified, professionally trained and appropriately approved engineering staff.

– This approach ensures that all maintenance activities continue to meet the airline’s strict safety standards and regulatory requirements at all times. Any suggestion that Wizz Air would operate aircraft without proper maintenance oversight or without compliance with regulatory requirements is categorically false. The airline has a robust safety management system, works closely with the relevant aviation authorities and remains fully committed to providing safe, reliable and compliant operations for its passengers – the statement says.

Wizz Air will continue to put safety above all else, while adapting effectively and responsibly to the changing regulatory environment across its network. The airline will take necessary legal action against all defamation, the statement concludes.
