Bulgarian Mega Group to build plant in Dimitrovgrad – Up to 175 workers to be employed in Beles Industrial Zone

The Bulgarian company Mega Group is planning to build a production and business space in the Beles Industrial Zone in Dimitrovgrad, it was said at a meeting of representatives of this company, the local government and the Pirot Free Zone. According to the investor’s announcements, it is planned to employ up to 175 workers.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad, Vladica Dimitrov, emphasized the importance of this investment for the local community.

– For our city, every investment is important, especially one that is measured in millions of euros. This investment is of exceptional importance for the municipality of Dimitrovgrad. I am pleased that everything went smoothly, that all conditions have been met and that Mega Group has been enabled to invest further. Now the question is the deadlines, or rather the dynamics of the construction of future plants and storage capacities that the investor plans within the Free Zone. It is important for us to continue what we started in 2019 and 2020, when the Beles Industrial Zone and the subzone of the Pirot Free Zone were opened. This is the second investment in the Beles Industrial Zone and I hope that it will start operating within a reasonable time and provide new employment – Dimitrov told RTV Caribrod.

The Director of the Pirot Free Zone, Vladimir Ilic, presented the advantages of doing business in the free zone system, emphasizing the benefits that investors could achieve through customs and tax breaks, as well as good transport connections in this area.

– We are very pleased that, after a long time, we got an expansion of the Free Zone, and I am especially glad that it is being implemented in Dimitrovgrad. An investor has appeared which plans to invest in an area of about two hectares in the Beles Industrial Zone. The most recent investment was made in 2019 and it means a lot to us that a new investor is now coming with plans for investments worth several million euros. According to the investor’s announcements, it is planned to employ up to 175 workers, which will bring new jobs and additional development opportunities for the citizens of Dimitrovgrad – said Ilic.

The owner of the Mega Group company, Tzvetan Tzvetanov, sees this investment as an opportunity to expand business and strengthen economic cooperation between Serbia and Bulgaria.
