The foundations for quality production and workforce have always existed. Slovenian Primat has been present in Baljevac for more than 30 years. With the integration into Gunnebo, working conditions, modernization of the factory and environmental protection have improved.
– We have placed great emphasis on people coming to a well-organized workplace. With advanced technologies, new production, so that everything is at hand where it should be. And that we can therefore be better and more successful – says Tanja Djokic, Production Director at Primat.
Although the company comes from Sweden, Gunnebo did not previously have production in Europe. The plan is for the Baljevac and Slovenian Primat plants to become the main safe manufacturing plants. Production has also been increased. From 1,000 units to the current 15,000 per year.
– You will see the huge investments we have made here. A complete reconstruction of the factory, both in the building and in the machinery. Most importantly, we are investing in people. Our focus has always been and will continue to be on the health and safety of our workers – emphasizes Elisabeth Whitefield, Vice President of Gunnebo Safe Storage Europe.
There is always room for advancement in the factory. Veljko Vujanac has been at Primat for a few years. From a safe assembly worker, he advanced to the position of line manager. He is responsible for six production departments.
– You always have, any worker has, conditions for promotion in their workplace. Even outside their workplace – emphasizes Veljko Vujanac, manager at the Baljevac plant.
Working hours are eight hours. Five days a week. All public holidays are non-working days.
– With minimal overtime, we have absolutely no unplanned absences, nor does everything have to be completed outside of working hours. Here, we plan on time, we work in accordance with what we have defined, and we primarily take care that our employees are satisfied with both the way we work and the organization of work – explains Zeljko Milutinovic, manager at the Baljevac plant.
The plan is to expand the range of certified security equipment, primarily safes, cabinets and metal doors. The goal is to combine Primat’s expertise in the production of safes with the global sales network and resources of Gunnebo, which exports to more than 25 countries around the world.
