The new Soko trains of the Chinese manufacturer CRRC Tiger series 411/419 for speeds of 200 km/h have officially entered traffic on the Belgrade Center-Subotica rail line.

As announced by Srbijavoz, the first departure of the new train from Prokop is at 6 am for the Subotica station, and from Subotica at 8 am for the Belgrade Center station.

Traffic on intercity lines on the Belgrade Center-Subotica-Belgrade Center route will be organized with new compositions, so that trains 540, 542, 544 and 546 from Prokop will depart at 6, 8 and 10 am and 12 pm, and trains 543, 545, 547 and 549 from Subotica will depart at 8 and 10 am and 12 and 2 pm.

Let us remind that, so far, intercity lines (the fastest lines) have primarily been served by double-decker Stadler trains, which were purchased ahead of the opening of the high-speed railroad from Belgrade to Novi Sad.

When it comes to establishing a direct passenger rail connection between Belgrade and Budapest, the exact date is still unknown.
