Utva Silosi from Kovin to expand production – Italian Danieli delivering new line for production of welded steel pipes

The company Utva Silosi AD Kovin has chosen the Italian company Danieli to deliver a new line for the production of welded steel pipes (ERW – Electric Resistance Welded), thus entering a new phase of modernization and capacity expansion, the Danieli Group announced.

Utva Silosi is a domestic joint-stock company with a long tradition in the metalworking industry, which is engaged in the production of steel pipes, metal profiles, silos and steel structures. The company operates as a joint-stock company with dispersed ownership and is one of the most significant domestic manufacturers in the segment of equipment for storage and metal processing.

The new line will be installed at the plant in Kovin and is intended for the production of small diameter pipes, up to 50 millimeters, with a maximum wall thickness of up to three millimeters.

Danieli, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of equipment for the steel industry, specializing in complete technological solutions for rolling mills and metal processing lines, will supply a complete ERW line. The equipment covers the process from forming and welding of pipes, through calibration and cutting, to an automatic quality control system.

According to the manufacturer, the line will enable production at a speed of more than 160 meters per minute, with a high level of automation and integrated quality control systems.

The new production line is intended primarily for the construction and automotive industries, where high-quality precision steel pipes are used.

The start of production is planned for the first half of 2027.
