New 180 MW wind farm planned near Razanj – Up to 25 wind turbines and battery storage to be built on 1,134 hectares

The company WPP Black Mud d.o.o. from Belgrade has submitted a request to the Ministry of Environmental Protection to decide on the need for an environmental impact assessment for the phase-based construction project of the Crni Kao and Rujiste wind farm, in the municipality of Razanj.

The planned location is situated east of Razanj, at a distance of about 2.5 kilometers, in an area that is infrastructurally connected to the E-75 Belgrade-Nis highway. The scope of the project covers parts of the cadastral municipalities of Crni Kao, Rujiste, Varos and Lipovac, on a total area of about 1,134 hectares.

According to available data, the wind farm will have a maximum installed capacity of 180 MW, with a restriction that the power at the connection point does not exceed 178.2 MW. The construction of up to 25 wind turbines is planned, as well as supporting infrastructure - internal access roads, plateaus, underground cable and fiber optic networks, a 33(35)/400 kV transformer station, and a battery system for storing electricity.

The project also includes connection to the high-voltage transmission network, as well as the reconstruction of existing roads for the transport of equipment. The maximum height of the wind turbine (upper reach) is up to 240 meters, while the rotor diameter is up to 172 meters.

The area planned for construction is mainly agricultural land in private ownership, for which the investor has resolved property and legal relations. There are no protected natural resources on the site, but the northern border of the project is located in the immediate vicinity of the potential Natura 2000 area “Bukovik II.”

The start of construction is planned for 2026, while commissioning is planned for 2027.
