Serbian Minister of Agriculture Dragan Glamocic announced yesterday that the development of the logo for the “100% from Serbia” label, which would be on the packaging of food products made from 100% domestic ingredients, had been completed.

Glamocic told RTS that there was great interest among producers and end users in the new “100% from Serbia” label, and the goal was to make it easier for consumers to recognize domestic products, as well as to improve the position of farmers.

– Citizens will be able to clearly see when they are buying a product in a store that is 100% produced in Serbia – the minister emphasized, adding that additives, which could make up to two percent of the product, would be an exception.

He emphasized that stricter rules for labeling imported meat were also being introduced.

– Until now, the minimum font size was 1.2 millimeters, and now it will be at least five millimeters, so that the origin of the product is clearly visible – Glamocic stated.

The labeling control will be carried out by the agricultural, veterinary, phytosanitary and market inspection.
