Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic said that one of the key elements of the Serbian Development Strategy until 2030 was the construction of new industrial zones and technology parks throughout Serbia.

She stated for Radio-Television of Serbia (RTS) that industrial parks would be built according to the model of developed world centers, in which complementary industries and entire supply chains would operate.

– We want to position Serbia as a technological hub of Europe - a country that combines raw materials and intelligence, tradition and innovation – said Mesarovic.

As examples, she cited the industrial park in Indjija, which will be built on about 740 hectares, and the Mihajlo Pupin Park in Belgrade on 320 hectares. Research and development centers, as well as production plants, are planned within these complexes.

In addition, the construction of new industrial zones is planned in several cities, including Cuprija, Leskovac and Vranje, in order to encourage more balanced regional development.

Mesarovic pointed out that through projects prepared by the Ministry of Economy, around 17 million square meters of industrial capacity would be built, which would enable the construction of millions of square meters of new production facilities and the creation of new jobs.
