Telekom Srbija takes over Orion Telekom WiFi

As of Tuesday, March 3, Orion Telekom WiFi is owned by Telekom Srbija. After Telekom Srbija took over Mondo INC - the company that publishes the daily newspaper Kurir and the television channel of the same name - on the last day of 2025, three months later the state-owned telecom operator also took over Orion Telekom WiFi.

As a result, users of Orion’s cable television, internet, and fixed telephony services became users of Telekom Srbija as of this Tuesday.

According to the latest available data from RATEL in the Review of the Electronic Communications Market in Serbia for the third quarter of 2025, by the number of broadband internet subscribers Orion ranks fourth, with a market share of 3.2%. Telekom Srbija holds the first position with 56% at the end of September 2025. It is followed by SBB and then Yettel.

The number of active users of mobile broadband access in the third quarter of 2025 recorded growth compared to the previous quarter and amounts to 7.67 million, according to the RATEL report.

When it comes to market share among operators distributing media content (most users have a cable television connection), Orion ranks sixth, with a share of 0.4%.

Here as well, Telekom Srbija holds the majority share of the market, with 62.1%. It is followed by SBB (30.1%), Yettel (5.4%), Sat-Trakt (0.9%), Jotel (0.5%), and then Orion Telekom with the mentioned 0.4% share.

On the last day of October 2025, Orion informed users about an “organizational change” — that from December 1, 2025, all user contracts concluded with two companies, Orion Telekom and Orion Telekom Tim, would be transferred to Orion Telekom WiFi. Telekom Srbija had previously already requested approval to acquire Orion Telekom WiFi from the domestic and regional antimonopoly commissions.
