Signing of contract for construction of Vozd Karadjordje highway announced for next fifteen days or so

A commercial contract for the construction of the Vozd Karadjordje highway will be signed in the next 15 days, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced during a visit to Bor. According to him, financing for this road has been secured “through the Chinese” and unnamed domestic banks, and preparatory work will begin in May or June, while construction itself could begin a month later.

He also added that the road would be completed, section by section, in the next five years, and that it would be of importance to the entire Pomoravlje region, especially to the residents of Mladenovac.

He announced the construction of roads in several places around Bor, including the 26-kilometer Bor-Seliste road, which is expected to cost EUR 17-18 million.

The plan, according to him, is for the Bor, Zajecar, Pomoravlje and Branicevo districts to be connected by three expressways. He stated that it would take about four and a half years for all of that to happen.

According to him, Bor and eastern Serbia will “blossom” when the airport and all planned roads are opened.
