Serbia and New Zealand sign air service agreement – Scheduled and codeshare flights enabled

Serbia and New Zealand have signed an Air Service Agreement in Wellington, establishing the legal frameworks for both scheduled and codeshare flights, aiming to boost tourism, trade and passenger convenience between the two countries.

The two sides initially negotiated an Air Service Agreement back in 2014 but the pact was never signed and formally put into place.

On Monday, the agreement was signed on behalf of the Serbian government by the Serbian Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand, Rade Stefanovic, and a representative from the New Zealand government.

The agreement opens the possibility for Air Serbia to place its designator code and flight numbers onto a partner airline’s service to New Zealand, enabling it greater access to the region. Similarly, Air New Zealand will be able to codeshare on its Star Alliance partners’ operations to Belgrade.
