Serbia, as stated, gets the opportunity to be among the first in Europe to introduce the commercial application of eVTOL aircraft, through the option of purchasing an initial fleet of up to 25 Midnight aircraft. This opens up space for the development of a regulatory, technical and operational framework for urban air traffic, but also for gaining practical experience that will be valuable in the future development of this industry.
A special and strategically important element of the cooperation is related to EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, at which Archer will be the official air transport partner. According to the announcements, Serbia plans to use this international event as a demonstration platform for next-generation transport, presenting electric air taxis to millions of visitors from more than 130 countries.
Archer’s statement also indicates that cooperation with Serbia goes beyond air transport. The company, as they state, has started a strategic dialogue with the Serbian Government on the potential for further development and industrialization, including areas related to critical minerals and battery components, which indicates the possibility of Serbia’s inclusion in new global value chains in the field of advanced technologies.
