The Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Belgrade, Prof. Arch. Vladimir Lojanica, and the founders of the Kiparh School of Architecture, Mihailo and Sara Parezanovic, signed a protocol on cooperation between these two educational institutions. This act formalized a long-term partnership initiative aimed at the development and improvement of architectural education in Serbia.

This cooperation, as they state, represents a unique model in international practice, because for the first time it systematically connects pre-university and university education in the field of architecture. By combining the experience of working with children and young people at the Kiparh School, with the academic knowledge and research potential of the Faculty of Architecture, continuity is created in the education of future architects - from the earliest age to the professional level.

– The significance of this initiative goes beyond the scope of the profession itself. Through joint programs, workshops, lectures, research and mentoring activities, the cooperation aims to raise awareness of the importance of architecture and the built environment, not only among future architects, but also among future citizens of various profiles. In this way, architecture is positioned as an important part of general culture and education – the statement says.

The initiative places architecture in a broader educational and social context, creating conditions for understanding space to become part of general knowledge, and not exclusively a professional discipline.

The partnership provides a new platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas between pupils, students and teaching staff of both institutions. It opens up space for innovative educational formats, an interdisciplinary approach and the creation of new learning experiences, which will contribute to the quality of architectural education and the development of a critical attitude towards space and its shaping.

This protocol sets the foundation for a new practice in architectural education in Serbia - a practice that encourages early spatial literacy, critical thinking and a responsible attitude towards the built environment.
