One step closer to new biogas quantities in Vojvodina: First and second phases of works on Plandiste power plant approved with planned installed capacity of up to 1 MW

Biogas capacities in Vojvodina will increase further this year, if the latest permits are anything to go by. The Department of Spatial and Urban Planning, Construction, Environmental Protection, Utility and Housing, Inspection Affairs and Agriculture of Plandiste has issued the investor ALTER BIOGAS PLAN d.o.o. Novi Sad a certificate of application for phases one and two of works related to the construction of the Plandiste Biogas Power Plant with an installed capacity of up to 1 MW (999 kW) of predominant category G.

Phase I includes the construction of fermenter I D26, fermenter II D26, mixing pit I, pumping station, CHP I facility, STEP UP TRAFO facility (a container for accommodating “step up” transformers), separation facility, weighbridges, lagoons, plateaus and traffic areas.

Phase two includes fermenter III D26, fermenter IV D26, mixing pit II, CHP II facility and STEP UP TRAFO II facility.

Let us remind that Plandiste will become a significant point of biogas plants in Vojvodina, which was clear in the fall of 2024, when the urban planning project for the construction of 20 mutually independent biogas plants of 999 kW each for the production of electricity was on public display.

By the way, the goal of the biogas plant is the production of electricity that is delivered to the public grid, as well as the use of heat energy, which is generated as a by-product, for internal purposes. The basic substrate for biogas production will be corn silage, rye silage and ground corn grain.
