Vladimir Nedeljkovic, representative of Bigadan, says that they find Vindija interesting because the waste from the meat industry and from farms is the best energy source for biogas facilities. Also, he sincerely hopes that the announced cooperation will take place, as this is the last chance for the company, which has built 45 bio power plants in 15 countries of the world so far, to continue investing in Serbia.
– We’ve been present in the Serbian market for five years, we have invested a lot, but without much success, so this is the last opportunity for Bigadan to stay in Serbia – Nedeljkovic pointed out.
He thanked the provincial secretary for mediating in the negotiations with Vindija, whereas the representative of the Croatian company didn’t wish to make any statements. However, it is obvious that there are mutual economic interests in realizing the partnership, considering that a new meeting, which could produce concrete results, has already been scheduled.
– It is in the Province’s interest to support any initiative for investment and economic strengthening of municipalities, especially those underdeveloped ones, such as Plandiste – Bjelic emphasized.
Vindija in Banat since 2009
Croatia’s largest food company, Varazdin-based Vindija, has been present in Plandiste since 2009, where it has a poultry meat products factory. Also, they have large broiler farms in Plandiste and the nearby village of Velika Greda. The waste produced there might be used as a renewable energy source in the future.
