NIS has agreed to import the first quantities of crude oil via the Adriatic Oil Pipeline (JANAF) for the needs of the Pancevo refinery, which will enable the resumption of production at the Pancevo Oil Refinery. The first quantities of crude oil are expected to be delivered to the Pancevo Oil Refinery next week, while the company plans to import additional quantities of crude oil, NIS announced.

In accordance with the delivery schedule, NIS is also planning to begin start-up activities at the Pancevo refinery, it added.

NIS reminds that the production facilities at the Pancevo Oil Refinery were suspended at the beginning of December last year due to a lack of crude oil for processing, which resulted from sanctions imposed by the US Treasury Department on NIS.

A special license issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department on December 31, 2025, allowed NIS to resume operational activities until January 23 of this year, including restarting refinery processing, importing crude oil, and conducting transactions necessary for security of supply and technical maintenance.
