When it comes to the Kolubara Basin, the program task states that two new transport systems for coal and overburden are being installed at Field E, with the inclusion of which at the end of 2026, a significant increase in mining is expected, so the planned coal production can reach 10-12 million tons per year.
It is also stated that production at Field G will end in 2026, and the equipment will be moved to Tamnava-Zapadno polje and Radljevo.
The Radljevo mine is in the opening phase - coal mining began in 2025, and after the inclusion of new BTO systems in the second half of 2026, the planned capacity will be 7 million tons of coal per year in about 3-4 years.
The tender envisages the analysis of coal homogenization and improvement of its quality, as well as the optimization of disposal of ash, slag and gypsum.
In the Kostolac basin, the Drmno surface mine is active, while Klenovnik and Cirikovac have completed exploitation.
The tender states that the opening of the West Kostolac mine is in the preparatory phase, with the preparation of spatial plans, feasibility studies and the main mining project.
The commissioned Program envisages the planning of the further development of the Drmno mine, the assessment of the overburden disposal capacity, the optimization of the placement of ash, slag and gypsum, as well as the planning of geological research to increase the level of exploration of the reserves.
The tender expires on February 5, and other details can be found HERE.
Let us remind that, in early December, the Government of Serbia issued a decision establishing the public interest in the expropriation of land and buildings in the cadastral municipality of Burovo, for the purpose of expanding the eastern part of the Kolubara lignite basin - open pit field E, and in the middle of the year, EPS launched a procurement procedure for the execution of exploratory drilling as part of the geological survey of coal deposits in this field.
