Tehnis planned across from STP Nis: Opening of Data Center, construction of three new faculties and five institutes announced

On a plot of land of about 10 hectares, across from the STP in Nis, a new part of the city with the working name Tehnis will be built and it will house a Data Center, three faculty buildings, five institutes and a student campus, announced the President of the Nis City Assembly Igor Novakovic.

Novakovic says that a contract has been signed for the construction of a Data Center in Nis.

- It is a new building, a new facility and Data means everything that is digital, and what the Republic does, from eGovernment, citizen data from the Ministry of the Interior, from other institutions, the army, banks that will be updated in the Data Center in Nis. The electrical power for operation is 30 megawatts, so we will also have to build a new 110/10 transformer station – said Novakovic.

He says that the center will be built across the street from the Science and Technology Park, on 10 hectares of land belonging to the Mija Stanimirovic barracks, which is intended for "sports and greenery".

- It is a pasture whose purpose we will change to research and development, and the entire area from "Philip Morris" to Somborski Boulevard will be changed to research and development. It will be a new part of the city - a new district with the working name Tehnis. The construction of three new faculties, five institutes, a student campus and accompanying facilities is planned - announces the President of the Nis Parliament.

He says that a new building will finally be built there for the Faculty of Science, which has been struggling with the problem of space for years. However, he did not specify who will finance all this, how much it will cost and when it will be built.
