This was announced by Dušan Torbica, the president of the Elnos Group, which marks eight decades of tradition this year, three decades of modern business and operates in a total of 18 markets in the region and Europe.
- We have great trust from our partners because we adhere to three rules: deadline, quality, safety. When circumstances change, we look for solutions, not excuses. Today, we are a group with more than 900 employees that is big enough to take on the most demanding jobs - says Torbica.
This year you celebrate eight decades of tradition and three decades of modern business. When you look back, what would you say shaped the Elnos Group today the most?
- I would say, in short - reliability. That is the key to our success. We are always guided by the principle: what is agreed must be implemented. If you give your word and don`t put it into action, it can last a day, a month, even a year, but at some point your business story has to take a downward trajectory. And that`s the "secret". As much as it is important to us that we are satisfied with the completed work, I can freely say - we are even more happy when our business partners tell us that we have exceeded their expectations. Reputation is hard to build and easy to lose. That`s why we never took any risks and that`s why we`re where we are. Today, we are working on really big projects, but we approach every job, despite, as you mentioned, eight decades of tradition and three decades of modern business, as if it were the first. What do I want to say? In our work, there is no place for amateurism. We do not rely on old glory. We strive to be better today than we were yesterday. Every day for us is a new opportunity.

The energy transition is accelerating all over Europe. From the point of view of Elnos Group, what does it mean for the development of new knowledge and professional profiles within the company? Is the structure of the competencies you need most changing?
- Absolutely. But that doesn`t mean we had to make radical changes in our staffing policy. We already have quality staff and we are constantly working to make them even more skilled and expert. We are constantly offering our people new training. In 2025, we reached an impressive figure of 8,000 hours of training. The members of our team do not consider it an obligation, but an opportunity. It is interesting that our employees have the possibility to propose trainings, and the quality of implementation is monitored through the annual employee satisfaction survey. What, exactly, is our goal? At Elnos Group, we believe that our employees are our greatest capital and that their development and success form the foundation of the company`s progress. In the economy today, what was valid a year ago is no longer valid, and in the energy sector, these trends are changing even faster. Therefore, we have experience, which we are building up daily. When you follow that recipe, there`s no obstacle you can`t overcome, and you can`t be surprised by any rule change in the market.

What was the role of your employees for all these successes you achieve?
- They are our greatest value. Through all these decades behind us, we knew one thing - without a satisfied employee, we cannot expect results. Their satisfaction is a guarantee of success. People make a company successful, not vice versa. When the worker "grows", the company grows as well. When your team members are motivated, results are guaranteed. Any collective will have a bright future when the epicenter of its attention is a human being. Trends are changing. The rules of the market are changing. However, if you have quality staff, you are capable of successfully overcoming any challenge. That`s why I like to say that I`m lucky to work with people who consider the success of our company their own success. In such a working environment, decision-making is much simpler.

The Elnos Group is equally successful both domestically and on numerous, extremely demanding European markets. What`s the "secret"?
- Yes, we work all over Europe. In all those countries, 18 in total, three rules are the same: deadline, quality, safety. That`s our standard. We are flexible enough to adapt to any regulation, climate, terrain. We have a lot of trust from our partners, because everything we agree on, we achieve within the agreed time. When circumstances change, we look for a solution, not an excuse. Today, we have more than 900 employees and we are big enough and professional enough to take on the most demanding jobs. That`s why Elnos Group is successfully operating today from Scandinavia to South-Eastern Europe. Our network consists of stable resource centers in six countries and member companies that implement complex projects in energy, infrastructure and industry - from design to EPC execution and digitization. Our member network enables us to provide localized delivery and support throughout Europe.
Recently, a contract was signed with the Sinohydro company on the construction of the Vetrozelena wind farm, which will be the largest individual wind project in the Balkans. What does this project mean for Elnos Serbia, and how will it affect the further development of competences and the positioning of Elnos in the field of renewable energy sources in the region?
- Exactly, Elnos Serbia has signed an EPC contract with Sinohydro Corporation Limited, a subsidiary of Power China Construction Group, for the construction of the Vetrozelena wind farm, which will be the largest single wind project in the Balkans. Vetrozelena will have a total power of 300 MW, and 48 turbines with a single power of 6.25 MW. Elnos Srbija, as a member of the Elnos Group, will undertake the implementation of the complete connection to the transmission system of Elektromreža Srbija. This work includes the construction of a 35/400 kV substation with four 90 MVA transformers, a 400 kV connection and distribution plant with six fields, a connection two-system 400 kV transmission line 7.5 kilometers long, as well as accompanying infrastructure upgrades within the power distribution and telecommunications network. This project represents another contract concluded under the EPC principle, within which Elnos Srbija realizes complete engineering. The expertise and dedication of our engineers, technicians and fitters, comprehensive knowledge and rich experience on similar projects, along with the financial and organizational stability of the company, give us firm confidence that we will realize this project successfully and within the agreed deadlines. Certainly, just as you said, this project will contribute to the additional development of our competences, but also to the strengthening of our position in the field of renewable energy sources.

In which phases of the energy transition is Elnos Group participating?
- We are present in all phases of the energy transition - from renewable sources and substations to digitization and industrial automation. We operate through more than 20 legal entities and representative offices organized in accordance with local legislation and standards. This type of organization enables us a high degree of flexibility, competitive deadlines and strong technical support. In the past decades, we have implemented more than 1,000 complex projects across the continent, with a constant expansion of our geographical reach and technical capacities. Operating in several countries, members of the Elnos Group take on different but related roles that together form the whole of our business system. Some are experts in field work. Others are design and engineering centers, with teams that create complex technical solutions. The third ones deal with the production and assembly of equipment, maintenance and digital integrations. This functional diversity makes Elnos Group a flexible and reliable system - capable of managing even the most complex projects independently. With such a foundation, we can be builders, innovators, and guardians of stability in the coming decades as well.
What are the plans of the Elnos Group for 2026?
- We are continuing the same course. We will carry out numerous contracted projects. In the year ahead, the energy industry will continue to seek a balance between supply security and accelerated transition. It is precisely between the aspiration towards stability and the need for innovation that the key steps will take place that will shape the energy future. Our plans are aligned with European energy goals, but are just as firmly rooted in the region we come from. And in 2026, we will continue to strengthen our role, carrying out projects that connect the stability of networks, renewable sources and new technologies. We want to be even more present, faster and closer to partners who build the energy future together with us. Because the future is not waited for - it is built, consistently and with dedication, project by project, megawatt by megawatt.
