Construction of new boulevard from Zeleznik to Banovo Brdo starting next year

The construction of the seventh, penultimate collector for collecting atmospheric water on Makisko Polje, where the subway is being built, is nearing completion, and another collector is planned. All of them will be connected to a perimeter canal that will stretch along Makisko Polje and protect the source of drinking water. The works should be completed by the end of the year, Miroslav Cuckovic, City Manager, tells Politika.

– Then the construction of a new boulevard from Zeleznik to Banovo Brdo begins. We have already received a building permit for works at the Zeleznik - Obrenovacki put intersection, which represents the first step in the construction of the new boulevard. It will be six kilometers long, it will run through Makisko Polje parallel to Vodovodska Street and the future subway, as well as the existing section of the railroad at the Makis marshalling yard. The boulevard is planned to be wider than the “Milos Veliki” highway and its construction will facilitate the passage of drivers coming from the direction of Zeleznik and Obrenovac and going towards Pozeska Street – explains Cuckovic.

He adds that preparatory work for the construction of a subway station has already begun in Banovo Brdo.

– In the next month, work will begin at the gas station on Pozeska Street. The expropriation has been completed, so the station will be relocated. In Bele Vode, we have purchased land from 22 families. 21 have been paid, and funds have been provided for the remaining family. In the vicinity of the Pancevo Bridge, where there are about 80 buildings, the expropriation is currently being resolved – says Cuckovic.
