The data center market in Europe and the region is going through the most dynamic period of development so far, under the strong influence of artificial intelligence, cloud services and digital transformation. How AI is changing the architecture of data centers, what are the key technologies of the future and how Schneider Electric is responding to new market needs, is revealed by Jelena Pejkovic, Sales Director of the Secure Power Supply Sector at that company.

In the world of banking, where conversations often turn into a maze of technical terms and hidden fees, it sounds almost unexpected when a Sales Director speaks simply, openly and without calculation. This is exactly the approach that comes from Yettel Bank, where transparency is the basic product and user experience is the main strategy. We talked to Boris Samohvalov, Sales Director of Yettel Bank, about what they sell when they “hide nothing” and what the banking of the future looks like.

Battery energy storage is becoming a key part of modern energy infrastructure, and ENEL PS, a company with more than 30 years of experience in developing solutions for uninterruptible and backup power supply, is already designing and implementing innovative solutions in Serbia that combine battery storage, renewable energy sources and advanced software platforms. In an interview with Gordan Vujicic, Director of Strategic Development at the company, we learn how this technology helps data centers and industrial facilities to be reliable, flexible and market-active, and what Serbia can expect in the coming years in the field of smart grids and energy storage.

What does a company in Serbia need when it comes to telecommunications and ICT services? And is it possible to find all these services in one place, or is it necessary to find several suppliers? Tamara Milovanovic, PMI’s General Manager for Southeast Europe, spoke to eKapija about the program’s achievements and key challenges of digitalization.

Artificial intelligence is the biggest topic of this era, and Milan Jevtic, Executive Director for Technology at AIGO, shared his insights on its impact on people, business, and technology with us. He believes that our urgent task is to master new tools and principles. The sooner we are comfortable with them the more time we will have to devote to what the client wants to pay. Then we will sell our products at higher prices, they will carry greater value. And so on until some new industrial revolution and new topics of concern.

By 2035, agent-based artificial intelligence could generate about USD 450 billion in revenue from enterprise software applications, according to Gartner. Its practical application is already arriving in Serbia through the so-called digital assistants – AI agents that take over routine operations in companies, speed up processes, relieve employees, and improve customer support. Darko Marjanovic, Director of Things Solver and a pioneer in the application of agent AI in the region, spoke to eKapija about how agent AI works, where it is already used in our country, and what changes it will bring in the coming years.

Digitalization today is not a luxury, but a condition for survival. Companies that introduce new technologies become faster, more efficient, more accurate, and more competitive; they reduce costs, increase customer satisfaction, and open up new business models. That is why the Center for Digital Transformation was established within the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, one of the main goals of which is to help the Serbian economy, especially micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, keep pace with global technological changes.

We also addressed the topic of phishing, and the example of an employee of a Belgrade company shows us that it is no longer a mass fraud sent to thousands of addresses, but an attack aimed at specific people in a specific organization. Instead of generic emails that once easily gave away fraud, today spear phishing attacks, compromised business emails, social media scams, and SMS and WhatsApp messages that look completely legitimate dominate.

We also looked at the recent participation of regional startups at the prestigious WEB Summit technology conference in Lisbon. Seven companies from Montenegro and four from Serbia presented their solutions, and the great interest of investors is a clear signal that this region has enormous potential when it comes to developing modern tools in various fields. This is confirmed by the company Dren Bio, founded by Serbs in America, which was declared the best biotechnology startup for this year. Another confirmation comes from Bosnia and Herzegovina, which ranked 91st in the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2025 and entered the top 100 startup ecosystems for the first time.

At the beginning, we already mentioned that digitalization is no longer a matter of choice, and this has been recognized by the Montenegrin state administration. Thus, this country is one of the pioneers in the region, considering that it has introduced artificial intelligence into public services. Now Chatbot Masa helps citizens and investors in the processes of legalization and issuing building permits. Also, the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) portal has been launched, where entrepreneurs and service providers can now find all the information on procedures, regulations and competent institutions required to start or conduct business in one place.
