One step closer to another section of Vojvodina Smile – Presentation of Urban Planning Project for the Expressway Route in the Territory of Kikinda announced

The Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection and the Secretariat for Urban Planning, Unified Procedure and Construction of the City of Kikinda have announced a public presentation of the Urban Planning Project for the construction of the IB-class state road (expressway) Vojvodina Smile in the territory of Kikinda. More precisely, the subject of the UP is the section from the administrative border with the Municipality of Novi Becej to the state border with Romania (Nakovo border crossing).

The section in question, from the border with the Municipality of Novi Becej to Nakovo, is 16.2 kilometers long and is designed for speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour. The planned state road is designed with a lane width of 2 x 3.25 m, shoulder lane width of 2 x 0.35 m and a shoulder width of 2 x 1.5 m.

The drainage of atmospheric precipitation from the expressway will be carried out in a closed system, through gutters, drains, manholes and collectors to the separator.

Three intersections are planned at the level of the surface roundabout, namely Kikinda South, East and North.

Based on the analysis of the documentation, 12 intersections are planned, as indicated.

The Kikinda East roundabout will connect the motorway to state road no. 104, the Kikinda city road network and facilities within the southern part of the Kikinda city area towards Rusko Selo and Novi Kozarci and with a prospective connection to Srpska Crnja and the border crossing.

The Kikinda North roundabout will connect the motorway to state road no. 15, the Kikinda city road network and facilities towards the Nakovo settlement and border crossing.

In addition to the intersections on the main route, roundabouts are also planned on the arms of grade-separated intersections - loops or on the entry-exit directions of surface intersections on the main route.

The document notes that in the event of the possible introduction of electronic toll collection on motorways, service roads will also take on the role of roads on which mixed traffic of all vehicle categories is possible, without toll collection.

The public presentation of the UP will last until November 19 in the Kikinda City Administration building.
