Managements of N1, Nova, Radar and Danas send offer to take over UG media

The managements of N1, Nova, Radar and Danas in Serbia have officially sent an offer to take over the news media of United Group.

The management of N1 Group and partner newsrooms Nova S, Nova.rs, Danas and Radar have sent an official offer to the owners of these media, BC Partners and United Group, to take over one hundred percent of the ownership of these news media in Serbia and the region.

The offer was submitted to the board of directors of the company Summer Parent S.a r.l, with a letter in which the management emphasizes that the goal of the takeover is to preserve the independence, stability and professional standards that these newsrooms have built over the past decade.

As stated, the management believes that such an arrangement is the best way to ensure the continuity of the work of the newsrooms and preserve the trust of the audience, while United Group at the same time achieves a clean exit from the business segment that is not at the core of its telecommunications and subscription activities.

The offer also states that the process could be implemented in the short term, with the approval of the competent regulator in Luxembourg.

Representatives of the editorial offices say they are convinced that this step represents “the most responsible and stable way to protect the editorial independence and long-term sustainability” of the media, which over the past decade have become key platforms for free and professional information for citizens of the region.
