This is a strategic step for Serbia as a regional technology leader and a hub for companies, and the fact that the Serbian IT sector shone in Dubai is best confirmed by the excellent results of companies’ participation in the just-finished GITEX Global 2025.
At more than 2,000 meetings, companies from Serbia presented their advanced solutions in the fields of artificial intelligence, cloud technology, software engineering, digital transformation and chip design, and over 150 new jobs, projects and partnerships were contracted.
The national pavilion of Serbia in Dubai was one of the most visited — with visitors and potential partners from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, the USA, Canada, India, Pakistan, Romania, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Moldova...
Our exhibitors were visited by the Ambassador of Serbia to the UAE, Vladimir Maric, who talked with companies and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia about participation in the fair and assessed that the arrival of Gitex Global in Belgrade was a huge opportunity for our companies.
The greatest interest was in solutions in the field of software engineer education - especially in the direction of the development and integration of AI agents, as well as in solutions in the field of digital transformation, chip design and cloud security.
One of the first major business successes was recorded by the Belgrade company Algotech, which signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the South Korean company FORCS, specialized in “paperless” technologies, on the very first day.
– I am honored to announce that we have expanded our business to the Middle East and African markets. The potential business is worth millions and will create new jobs in Belgrade, on projects for banks and telecoms – said Vasa Segrt, a manager at this company.
The Novi Sad company Smart, part of the Saga Group, presented advanced robotic process automation systems, the so-called “digital employees,” which have found particular application in the administration and financial sector.
– Digital employees can simulate human work, but faster and more precisely. Robots should take over routine tasks, while people do more creative and strategic work. We see the greatest application in administration and finance – said director Ivana Ruzicic.
Belgrade-based Intellya presented three products, including a virtual assistant based on artificial intelligence.
– This is our fourth appearance at GITEX, which is a key platform for us to connect with new markets. AI should not replace people, but help them be more efficient – emphasized manager Nina Zivkovic.
– We have more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications and software development. At GITEX, we are looking for partners to present our AI and cloud security portfolio outside of Europe. Artificial intelligence is not magic - but a tool that we use through statistical models for practical needs – said the business development manager at MDS Informaticki Inzenjering, Ivan Zivanovic.
In addition to telecommunications solutions and data center technologies, this company focuses on the development of security software and integration with new generation AI models.
Representatives of the company Ikotek, which develops and manufactures IoT devices for global brands, boasted about the new business as a result of participation in the fair, adding that the performance and interest in their solutions had exceeded all expectations.
The most prominent guest of this year’s GITEX Global fair was Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, known for developing the revolutionary artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT.
Serbian companies found themselves shoulder to shoulder with leading global names as GITEX Global 2025 brought together companies such as Alibaba Cloud, AMD, AWS, Dell, e&, G42, Google, HPE, Huawei, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, Siemens, Snowflake and others.
