The Cibuk 2 Wind Farm in the municipality of Kovin, in South Banat, was officially put into trial operation on October 21, when the first circuit was activated and the first wind-generated electricity was generated, the RES Serbia association announced.

A total of 35 megawatts of installed capacity has been connected to the electricity grid so far, while the installation of all turbines is expected to be completed by mid-November. The entire wind farm, with a total capacity of 154 MW, is planned to be connected to the grid in early December.

The wind farm is located between the villages of Bavaniste and Mramorak, about 40 kilometers from Belgrade, and represents a significant step in the development of renewable energy sources in Serbia. The project contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy security and sustainable development of local communities.

The investors are Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) from the United Arab Emirates and Taaleri Energia from Finland, while the construction was carried out by the local team of their joint company Masdar Taaleri Generation.
