Expressway to Bezdan border crossing planned – 13.6 km bypass route

The plan for the Bezdan border crossing bypass is available for public inspection.

The Department of Spatial and Urban Planning and Civil Engineering of the City Administration has invited citizens to participate in a public discussion on the draft Decision on the development of a detailed regulation plan for the construction of a bypass on the route from the Kozara pista roundabout on the Backi Breg - Sombor - Vrbas - Kikinda - Srpska Crnja expressway to the Bezdan border crossing, soinfo.org reports.

According to the graphic representation, the bypass route that will touch the Bezdan settlement is 13.6 kilometers long, and the total area covered by the plan is around 300 hectares.

The company MHM-projekt d.o.o. from Novi Sad, which was previously responsible for the development of the feasibility study and conceptual design of the expressway, will be the developer of the Plan.

The funds for the development of the plan will be provided by the Public Enterprise Roads of Serbia and the Provincial Secretariat for Energy, Construction and Transport.

The deadline for the development of the draft detailed regulation plan is 12 months at the most.

The decision on whether to prepare a report on the strategic environmental impact assessment of the plan will be made based on the opinion of the body responsible for environmental protection of the city of Sombor and will represent an integral part of the documentation basis of the detailed regulation plan.
