Dušan Milosavljević, director of Marera's concrete production division: Two decades of reliable partnership in building Belgrade

About past success, business within Marera, available resources and capacities, strategic plans for the future, we talk with Dušan Milosavljević, director of the Marera division for concrete production.
How is the first year of operation of the Marera division for concrete production going?
- So far, we have achieved intense growth and very visible results, which are the result of the expansion of the client base and participation in large projects. The focus was on the improvement of each segment of business - from manufacturing processes and quality control to logistics and client relations. We paid special attention to modernization of equipment and optimization of processes, which contributed to higher efficiency and reliability of delivery. Thanks to a dedicated team and clearly set objectives, in the first nine months of this year, we achieved double-digit percentage growth. These results confirm that we are consistently building a stable and competitive position on the market, based on quality, reliability and the trust of our partners.
What impact on the development and positioning of the Division for Concrete Production has functioning within a large and integrated system such as Marera?
- Functioning within a strong system like Marera has an extremely positive influence on the development of the division. Thanks to the stable and well-organized group structure, we have strong support in all business segments - from finance and procurement to marketing and project management. In just eight years, Marera has built a recognizable portfolio of brownfield commercial buildings, with more than 100,000 m² of renovated space, including buildings of historical importance. Such experience and capacity make the system an extremely reliable environment for our division. An integrated platform for development, construction and facility management has enabled us to fully focus on our core business – concrete production, increasing the number of projects and strengthening operational capacities.

Today, Belgrade is rapidly developing through numerous infrastructural and commercial projects. Which projects would you single out as the most important references?
- The leading position is a great privilege for us, but also a responsibility to continue to uphold the highest standards of efficiency, reliability and quality in delivering standard, pumped and special concrete. So far, we have built strong references and gained the trust of a large number of clients and partners. The concrete produced in our factories is used in the realization of the most diverse projects - from public infrastructural, through commercial to the construction of modern residential complexes. Among them are Belgrade on the water, Soul 64, Ozon residence, National Stadium, Delta District, Lastavice, Nemanja grad, West Gate, Expo 2027 and others. We are proud that thanks to these and other projects, our concrete has become part of the urban transformation of Belgrade and synonymous with quality, reliability and longevity in the construction industry.
Bearing in mind all the projects you mentioned, what kind of capacities do you have in order to be able to satisfy such a demanding and dynamic market as the Belgrade one?
- We have three LIEBHERR concrete plants with a total capacity of 360 m³/h. We use 36 mixer trucks for fast and efficient transport of fresh concrete to the construction site, while we have 9 auto-pumps for pumping concrete to high or hard-to-reach locations. At the end of last year, we renewed our fleet by purchasing four new Volvo mixers, in which we invested half a million euros. In this way, we further improved the efficiency of delivery and enabled timely supply of fresh concrete to our clients.
Our distribution and delivery fleet is the second largest in Belgrade. We invest in equipment and capacity to ensure top quality and reliability. The investment in capacities allowed us to reach the total production of last year in 9 months of this year. All of this would not be possible if we did not have a professional and dedicated team of people whose precision, coordination and care about deadlines ensure that every client is satisfied with our service. We are proud of the fact that even after the integration, we have kept the same team in which we have great confidence and with whom we continue to build success together.
What are the division`s plans in the coming period? Are you considering expanding to other local markets?
- We maintain high standards and constantly work on improving all key processes and capacities of our personnel, in order to do responsible and sustainable business. The company`s focus is on further strengthening its position on the Belgrade market, and we plan to transfer decades of expertise, what we are best at, to new markets, creating value for everyone we do business with.
