PERI DUO – New generation of sustainable and efficient systems

The modern construction industry faces increasing pressure to increase productivity, improve safety and at the same time meet ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) standards of sustainable business. One of the key steps in this direction is innovation in materials, especially in the formwork and scaffolding segment.

The PERI company has been investing in research and development of polymer composites for years, and the result of that work is DUO – the first complete formwork system made of techno-polymer that changes the way work is done on the construction site.

Materials science-based innovation

PERI has developed a composite material based on a polymer base, optimized by the application of special additives. Unlike traditional materials such as steel or wood, techno-polymers are extremely durable, resistant to moisture over time and not deformation prone.

The production process allows for great flexibility during design - with the same components, it is possible to perform the formwork of walls and mezzanine structures. This simplifies assembly and reduces the number of elements in the system.

Sustainability as a strategic asset

DUO is not only a technical innovation, but also a response to the demands of sustainable construction. The system brings three key benefits:

• Zero-waste production – all raw materials used are processed to create the final product. During production, no waste is produced.

• Less weight, lower transport costs and emissions – a very light system compared to steel or wood, which enables faster work processes, saves time, reduces transport and labor costs.

• 100% recyclability – used DUO panels are returned to the production cycle and become new products, thus realizing the principle of sustainable economy.

Efficiency and productivity on the construction site

The DUO system is intended for walls, mezzanine structures, columns and foundations – one system covers the majority of typical construction works. Thanks to the low weight, the elements can be mounted manually, without the use of a crane, which enables work even in smaller or hard-to-reach locations, as well as in urban areas where the noise level is limited.

The system is characterized by:

• minimum number of different components,

• operation without special tools,

• quick mastery of the process even by less experienced staff.

In this way, DUO increases productivity and reduces latency, which directly contributes to higher project profitability.

Recognized globally

IThe innovativeness of the DUO system is confirmed by numerous international awards. Among them are the French MAT D`OR Award, the "Best Innovative Product" award in Angola, the Best Machine and Excellence Award at Bauma CONEXPO INDIA, as well as the BAKA Innovative Product Award 2019 in Germany. These recognitions confirm that DUO is setting new standards in formwork technology at the global level.
