Toyo Tires to build Innovation Center in Indjija – Experimental tire production on 6,000 m2

Based on the request of the investor Toyo Tires Serbia, an Urban Design Project was developed for the construction of an Innovation Center within the company’s industrial complex in Indjija. The project was developed by the Kubarch company from Subotica, while the architectural designer was the North Engineering company.

According to the documentation, the new Innovation Center will be a specialized organizational unit of the Toyo Tires company intended for research, development and improvement of processes in the production of automobile tires. The goal of this center is to develop new and improved production solutions, which will further increase the competitiveness, efficiency and sustainability of the factory.

The facility will cover an area of about 6,000 m², partly on two floors and partly on one.

The center will include experimental spaces for small-scale tire production, laboratories for material testing, offices for data analysis and processing, as well as space for presentations and employee training.

As stated, tire production at the center will be carried out once a week, for six hours, while the total production capacity of the factory is not expected to increase. The facility will employ around 20 employees, and occasionally presentations of results and training for up to 60 guests will be organized.

Let us remind that, during a visit to the Japanese Toyo Tires factory in Indjija, President of the Provincial Government Maja Gojkovic announced plans to build a science and technology development center that would connect the factory with universities. She added that the details of the project would be discussed during the upcoming visit of the Provincial Government delegation to the company’s headquarters in Japan.

The Toyo Tires factory in Indjija currently employs 671 workers and plans to produce 3.2 million tires this year, mostly for export to the American market.
