– They submitted a request for location requirements, and in the next few days they should receive a response from Urban Planning to know within what limits they can build their plant. They have already found a company that will carry out the work for them. They have found a man who will manage the entire business, and he is currently in China undergoing training – said Gasic.
The Chinese company Minth Holding will build an electric vehicle factory on 210 hectares of land, with a planned investment worth EUR 870 million and as many as 2,200 new jobs.
The Indjija Municipal Assembly also adopted a decision to draft a Detailed Regulation Plan for the Advanced Mobility Center of Serbia, which created formal conditions for the start of one of the largest investments in the history of this city, pointed out Gasic.
This investment is part of a broader agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Minth Holding company, confirmed by the signing of a memorandum of understanding that paves the way for the construction of a modern production facility in Serbia.
The construction of two large substations is also expected, which will double the capacity compared to the ones that Indjija has now.
– We have enough electricity for all companies and the population, but the plans are such that they are planned decades in advance and that is what is needed. This is a major investment, where the state will allocate tens of millions of euros, and the work should start next year. We have enough gas capacity, but since plans are made in advance, we will certainly need a large gas station. The construction of a new gas station has been agreed with Srbijagas and we are also working on that – says Gasic.
