Telekom to acquire five more operators

Just a month and a half after it was announced that Telekom Srbija was acquiring Orion telekom wifi and Beotelnet-ISP, new information shows that the state-owned telecom operator is planning to acquire five more operators in Serbia. These are: Nova Telnet bezicne i kablovske telekomunikacije d.o.o. Porodin, Media KDS d.o.o. Sombor, MSAT Inzenjering d.o.o. Petrovac na Mlavi, Link 016 d.o.o. Lebane and KATV d.o.o. Coka.

In July, the Commission for Protection of Competition of North Macedonia announced that Telekom Srbija intended to acquire the companies Orion telekom wifi and Beotelnet-ISP.

– Based on the Law on Protection of Competition, a concentration was reported to the Commission for Protection of Competition by which the joint-stock company Telekom Srbija from Belgrade intends to acquire sole control over the company Orion telekom wifi d.o.o. from Zemun – the Macedonian Competition Protection Commission announced at the time, stating that Orion telekom wifi had no related legal entities and that it had not generated any income on the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia.

Let us remind that the sister company Orion telekom d.o.o. - a cable television operator - removed N1 from its offer on June 4, 2025, despite the fact that the contract was valid until the end of March 2026, of which users were informed half an hour before the disconnection.

New takeovers

The five operators whose takeover Telekom has now announced have a total of 28 employees and operating income of 680,680 euros.

Only two of the five operators have a positive EBITDA indicator: Link 016 from Lebane recorded 6,802 euros of this profit in its business books last year, and KATV Coka 24,680 euros.

Link 016 is also the only operator registered for the activity “6120 - wireless telecommunications,” while the remaining four operators are registered for the predominant activity “6110 - cable telecommunications.”

This company from Lebane has seven employees, operating income of 122,958 euros and EBITDA of 6,802 euros.

MSAT Inzenjering from Petrovac na Mlavi has the most workers, employing 12, and in its financial statements for 2024 shows operating income of 159,671 euros. EBITDA was recorded in the negative of 61,316 euros.

The highest operating income in 2024, of 273,247 euros, was recorded by KATV Coka - this operator has six employees and EBITDA of 24,680 euros.

Nova Telnet bezicne i kablovske telekomunikacije Porodin has only one employee, operating income in 2024 of 69,256 euros and negative EBITDA of 1,598 euros.

The fifth operator in this group, Media KDS from Sombor, has two employees, operating income of 55,548 euros and EBITDA in the negative of 10,400 euros.

Telekom Srbija has reported to the Commission for Protection of Competition of North Macedonia, based on the Law on Protection of Competition, that it intends to acquire “direct exclusive control” over all five companies.

None of them, as the Macedonian antimonopoly commission announced, has any related legal entities in the territory of North Macedonia, nor does it have any revenues generated in that country.

LINK 016 from Lebane, as stated in the documents of this commission, is an operator for electronic communication services and networks, and at the time of submitting the notification, it was registered for the provision of internet access and internet services.

NOVA Telnet bezicne i kablovske telekomunikacije Porodin is an operator of electronic communications services and networks, registered at the time of the notification for the provision of internet access and internet services. Telekom Srbija proposes, as stated - “that the relevant market in the concentration in question be a retail market for the provision of fixed broadband internet access services.”

For Media KDS from Sombor, Telekom proposes that the relevant market be “a retail market for the provision of fixed broadband internet access services, a retail market for the provision of media content distribution services.”

For MSAT Inzenjering from Petrovac na Mlavi, Telekom, as stated, proposes that the relevant market in the concentration be “a retail market for the provision of fixed broadband internet access services, a retail market for the provision of media content distribution services.”

KATV DOO Coka is an operator of electronic communications services and networks, registered at the time of the notification for the provision of internet access and internet services, and media content distribution services.
