The Republic Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO Fund) will rely heavily on artificial intelligence in certain tasks in the future, so that the fund’s service users and employees can have faster access to information. The fund has announced a tender for the development of applications that will use the advantages of artificial intelligence.

As can be seen in the tender documentation, in addition to simpler access and simplification of administrative procedures, the plan is to launch the application to enable personalized services, more transparent work of the Fund, simpler communication, analysis of documentation and integration of financial data sources using artificial intelligence.

The tender explains that this fund has large amounts of documents and data on a daily basis, and if they are not processed systematically, there are delays, unreliability and errors.

– Modern solutions allow this process to be accelerated and made more precise, and free the officials themselves from routine tasks and focus on activities that require professional assessment. Transparency is also of particular importance. The establishment of digital portals and other tools for reviewing data is becoming a way to build additional trust and strengthen accountability – the documentation indicates.

As specified, the application system includes a chatbot application, an application for mass processing of documentation using artificial intelligence, and an expansion of the system for reviewing historical user information. The chatbot, as it is added, will basically be an automated communication channel with the help of which citizens can obtain certain information on the fund’s website.

There will be two operating modes. In the first, public, official information, instructions and navigation to relevant pages and forms should be available to all authorized visitors to the portal. In the second, personalized mode, users who log in via the eGovernment portal will receive personalized information. The purpose of such a solution is to reduce the burden on contact centers and counter services, as well as to ensure equal accessibility to all citizens at any time.

The second application planned by the fund will be intended for mass processing of documentation using artificial intelligence. The main task of this application will be to relieve employees and ensure greater accuracy in the interpretation of content.

When it comes to expanding the system for reviewing historical user information, the documentation states that the fund is in the process of establishing an advanced system for reviewing historical user information, which integrates data from internal and external sources, processes it and displays it via a portal.

The estimated value of the job is 800 million dinars (about EUR 6.8 million) excluding VAT.

The deadline for submitting bids is October 13.
