Hard Rock Cafe coming to Belgrade

The famous chain of themed restaurants Hard Rock Cafe is coming to Belgrade, and job postings have already been posted on job sites seeking workers for the restaurant.

Hard Rock Cafe is opening for the first time in Belgrade, according to an ad on a regional job posting site that is looking for “an ambitious team that will participate in launching this legendary brand from day one” in the Serbian capital.

The positions of manager, chef, bar manager, bartender and waiter are open for the Belgrade Hard Rock Cafe. Previous experience is required for all positions, it is emphasized.

Where Hard Rock Cafe will be located in Belgrade

That this famous brand, after numerous unofficial announcements and speculations, is finally arriving on the local market, could be concluded when Belgrade quietly sneaked onto the list of locations on the official website of the Hard Rock Cafe “Unity” loyalty program.

The list of European destinations, along with the famous “Coming Soon,” stated that Hard Rock Cafe and the accompanying Rock Shop (a place where clothes and souvenirs of this brand are sold) would be opened in the very center of the city, at 5 Republic Square.

N1 contacted Hard Rock Cafe headquarters in writing with a request for more details, from which they confirmed their imminent arrival in Belgrade.

– We are pleased to inform you that we are currently in negotiations to open the first Hard Rock Cafe in Serbia. At this stage, we cannot confirm the details, but we will be very pleased to contact you as soon as we have more information – this international hospitality chain told N1.

Interestingly, however, after this, Belgrade was promptly removed from the list of future locations on the loyalty program website.

Belgrade via Podgorica

Ads seeking workers for Hard Rock Cafe, on the other hand, indicate that the negotiation phase is apparently already over and that it is time to polish the glasses and fire up the grill.

The first Hard Rock Cafe in the region opened in Podgorica in 2015. The franchise of this brand for Montenegro is owned by the company Podcafe F&B, co-owned by Dejan Pejovic and Mladen Brnovic.

These two Montenegrin citizens registered the company Begcafe d.o.o in Serbia at the beginning of the year, which operates restaurants and mobile catering facilities, at 5 Republic Square in Belgrade. It is one of the most attractive locations in the city, in a building known as Dom Stampe or “Ineks.”

Opening announced almost ten years ago

Excluding the place that “falsely presented” itself as a Hard Rock Cafe in the center of Belgrade in the 1990s, the first indication of the possible arrival of this brand in Serbia appeared in 2016 when some media announced that it would move into the space of the then closed “Ruski car” restaurant in Obilicev venac Street.

The then owner of the Hard Rock Cafe franchise for this region confirmed to the Montenegrin portal Investitor in 2018 that they were intensively searching for a location in the center of Belgrade.

– What seemingly met the standards of the Hard Rock Cafe in the city center was under an ownership dispute, and the company’s position is that it does not enter into arrangements that are under any kind of burden – it was said for Investitor at the time.

Hard Rock Cafe is an international chain of themed restaurants, hotels and casinos that today operates in more than 60 countries around the world.

The first Hard Rock Cafe was opened by a group of Americans in 1971 in London, because they wanted to have a place to eat a “good American burger” while living in Britain.

Today, Hard Rock Cafe owns the largest collection of music memorabilia in the world, which is exhibited in all of their facilities, and is also recognizable for its concerts, clothing items (the most famous of which are branded T-shirts) and products that are closely related to music.
