Japanese Nidec plans to expand production in Novi Sad

The Japanese company Nidec Elesys Europe plans to expand its operations in the Novi Sad business zone in the coming period. Namely, this company has submitted a request to the City Administration for Environmental Protection of the City of Novi Sad to decide on the need for an environmental impact assessment of the project to expand the production and business complex.

The documentation on the plans is not available online, but can be viewed exclusively in the premises of this city administration on weekdays from 10 am to 3 pm.

Let us recall that when Nidec came to Serbia in 2021, it was said that Nidec’s center for European operations would be located here, and the factory in Novi Sad is the first European location. They manufacture electrical and electronic equipment for motor vehicles.

Nidec Elesys has invested EUR 40 million in Serbia, they have an investment of EUR 20 million in a development center in Bulgaria and a test center in Nis as part of the Technology Park in Nis. They serve as support for the development center in Bulgaria and the factory in Novi Sad.
