The Industrial Park “Mihajlo Pupin,” which is supposed to be built in Borca, was once again the topic of talks between the minister of economy, Adrijana Mesarovic, and a delegation of the Chinese company China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), led by the company’s manager, Wang Lijun, announced the competent ministry.

– We talked about the next steps toward the implementation of the project of the Industrial Park “Mihajlo Pupin,” which is one of the strategic projects for the economic development of Serbia. In the next period, we expect the arrival of several Chinese companies which have expressed an interest in opening their production facilities within this park, which will contribute to employment, the transfer of technologies and the strengthening of the bilateral cooperation with the PR China – said Mesarovic.

The project of the Serbian-Chinese Industrial Park “Mihajlo Pupin” was the topic of the meeting between the minister of economy of Serbia, Adrijana Mesarovic, and representatives of the Chinese company CRBC in April as well. Mesarovic then announced that the management of CRBC would visit Serbia not long after, for the purpose of “more detailed talks about the investment.”

By the way, from the budget reserve for 2025, 60 million dinars was allocated for the implementation of the project of this industrial park.

The construction of this park, a project which is jointly realized by the Government of Serbia and the Chinese state company China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), has been announced for years.

The Serbian-Chinese Industrial Park “Mihajlo Pupin” is planned as one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Serbia. In 2018, the Ministry of Finance signed the agreement on the construction of this park with China Road and Bridge Corporation in Beijing. Then, in November 2019, those in charge announced that the construction of the industrial park in Borca should begin at the end of March 2020 and added that the financing of the project had been discussed at the meeting with representatives of the Bank of China, which had confirmed that it would finance all the companies arriving from China to the industrial park. However, the coronavirus pandemic followed.

Located on the left-hand bank of the Danube, near the Pupin Bridge, the park will spread on an area of 320 hectares, with an additional 180 hectares meant for the accompanying infrastructure, encompassing more than 500 hectares in total. The project is a result of cooperation between the Government of Serbia and CRBC, and its realization is planned in three phases.
