The president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced the signing of an agreement with a Spanish company on the construction of a new bridge in Backa Palanka, worth around EUR 126 million.

Let us remind that concrete steps toward the implementation of this infrastructure project began with the Spanish company back in 2023, when the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure and the Spanish company Centunion.

Back then, the memorandum was signed by the then minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, and representatives of Centunion, and it was announced that the new bridge would be nearly two kilometers long - 1,915 meters, more precisely - with access routes that would be built on both sides.

At the time, the chairman of Centunion, Javier Krahe Noblett, said that it was “one of the most important agreements signed in 2023 between Serbia and Spain.”
