The construction of a pedestrian-cycling bridge in Novi Sad is underway - - The Chinese company announced a tender for technical services

The project includes the construction of a 437.55-meter-long bridge over the Danube, using the pillars of the former Franz Josef Bridge, modernization of the 358-meter-long tunnel inside the Petrovaradin fortress and reconstruction of recreational areas on both sides of the bridge and at the exit from the tunnel.

Technical services include verification and optimization of soil stress-deformation characteristics, soil sampling and testing, numerical simulations of the impact of excavation on the soil, as well as research into the optimization of excavation and structural deformations.
University and research institutions with relevant experience are entitled to participate.

Let us remind you that last year the contract on design and work-construction was signed for the construction of the bridge with access roadways and the reconstruction of the existing tunnel with elevators to the upper plateau of the Petrovaradin fortress in Novi Sad.
The contract was signed by the then Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesić and President of China Shandong International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group LTD Džuang Jung.

As announced, the value of the investment is EUR 38 million, and it is planned that the work on the bridge, which will be built on the pillars of the former Franz Josef Bridge, start in spring 2025 and last 24 months, i.e. until spring 2027.
