Djuric expressed his satisfaction that citizens of 46 countries around the world were now able to apply for a Serbian visa on the portal, without going to a diplomatic or consular mission.
According to him, this will contribute to a more efficient presentation of Serbia in the world and the promotion of its tourism potential, especially in light of the upcoming Expo 2027.
The Serbian Foreign Minister said that, in addition to the fact that the e-visa system meant tens of thousands of new tourists in our country every year, it also brought direct benefits to our numerous diaspora.
Jovanovic explained that applying for an e-visa, or visa C, is done online via the portal welcometoserbia.gov.rs, where basic passport data is entered, a photo is scanned and an itinerary is entered.
He explained that, after the decision is made by the Republic of Serbia, the e-visa is generated in PDF format, a notification is sent via email to the applicant, and then the applicant can access and download their electronic visa via the portal.
When a foreigner arrives, an electronic check is performed at our border and when scanning their passport, it is automatically determined that they have been issued an electronic visa, stated the Director of the Office.
He emphasized that the advantage of this service is that the process is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and that anyone can apply for our electronic visa from any point on the globe.
The first people to enter Serbia with e-visas were two female passengers from the Kingdom of Lesotho, who were greeted by Minister Djuric at the Nikola Tesla Airport, welcoming them to our country.
