MAT: GDP higher by about two percent, budget deficit realized

According to the high-frequency indicators available so far, the real GDP of Serbia in the period January-April 2025 is higher by around two percent year-on-year, says the new issue of the Macroeconomic Analyses and Trends (MAT) magazine, published by the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and the Economics Institute.

The total industrial production is higher by 2.1 percent - growth was realized in the sectors of Manufacturing Industry (3.5 percent) and Mining (3.6 percent).

Since the beginning of the year, a two-digit year-on-year growth of the external trade has also been recorded - within that framework, the value of the goods export amounted to around EUR 10.8 billion (8.2 percent more), and the value of imports around EUR 14 billion (12.5 percent more).
