Completion of final section of Danube Corridor planned for February 2026

The final section of the Danube Corridor, 36 kilometers long, will be completed by February next year, stated Tan Xianfeng, the deputy director general of the Chinese company Shandong Hi Speed, after a meeting with the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Aleksandra Sofronijevic.

He pointed out that the works were going as planned, with a special focus on the safety and quality of the executed works.

Shandong Hi Speed is also hired for the construction of the future Belgrade-Zrenjanin-Novi Sad expressway, and earlier, it also realized the Iverak-Lajkovac section.

Minister Sofronijevic assessed the cooperation with this Chinese group as very successful and emphasized that “it is up to us to continue down the road that the presidents of Serbia and China have set, who are connected by a steel friendship.”
