Regulation on development of spatial and urban plans amended – Electronic public sessions to become part of planning

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure has adopted the Regulation on the Amendment to the Regulation on the Content, Method and Procedure for the Development of Spatial and Urban Planning Documents, which introduces important innovations regarding the organization of public sessions of committees after public access to draft planning documents.

The most significant change relates to the introduction of the possibility of holding electronic public sessions, in cases where there is great public interest. This decision is made by a committee established by the competent authority or the local government unit’s planning commission, in accordance with its rules of procedure.

Also, if after the announcement of the date for a public session there is a change in the date or venue - including the electronic format - the new information must be announced at least five days before the scheduled session. Committees may also organize multiple sessions depending on the number and scope of objections, and the schedule of participants and consideration of comments will be publicly available on the website of the competent authority.
