Marko Cadez, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS), has invited all companies from the Western Balkans region to take part, together with representatives of the Western Balkans 6 Chamber Investment Forum (WB6 CIF), in the presentation of the business platform “Western Balkans – EU” on March 27 this year in Brussels, where they will have an opportunity to participate in talks with commissioners of the European Union.

After the session of the Managing Board of CIF, which was held at the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro in Podgorica, he said that that day’s meeting of representatives of the business community of the Western Balkans (WB) was one of the most significant ones ever and that important decisions for the economy of the region had been made.

– There are plenty of topics and challenges, from geopolitical, energy challenges, to challenges when it comes to the regulations related to new technologies. All this certainly affects our economy – explains Cadez, as announced on the CCIS website.

The aim of the joint presentation in Brussels, the CCIS president emphasizes, is for the economy of the region to show unanimously that the region is acting together:

– To also show that clear position in the EU too, that this region cannot be seen as some kind of a zone outside of Europe, but that our manufacturers, companies, members, are of essential importance for the European economy, because they are part of international supply chains and part of the European economic space and the European economic architecture. That has to be clear to anybody who adopts any kind of policy in Brussels and anybody who makes decisions in EU member states.

Also, at the session of the Managing Board of WB6 CIF, the decision was adopted for the seat of this joint platform to be moved from Trieste to Podgorica.

– We have agreed for the General Secretariat of our joint organization to start operating as soon as possible here in Podgorica and we have received support for it from the European Commission, for the Forum to be moved from Trieste, where it was founded, to the region, to Podgorica – said Cadez.
